During Day 5 observation:

(Plant in Detergent)

( Plant in Water)
- Stems are in good condition.
-New shoots is surviving well.
-hairy leaves.
-water gets quite cloudy.

(Plant in acidic solution)

( Plant in Alkaline)
-Hairy leaves
-Water was found out to be less alkaline using the litmus paper.
-Some stems are found to be rotten and seperated from the plant.

Litmus Paper( This is use for testing alkaline)

Final conclusion:
Plant can't survive in sulphuric acid.
Reason:The chemical is too strong for the plant to survive.
Conclusion:Plant could survive in Sodium Hydroxide but the limitation of survival compared to plant surviving in water is lesser.
Reason: The chemical(alkaline) strength is not too strong for the plants.
Conclusion:Plant can't survive in common salt.
Reason: Salt solution strength is too heavy fo the plant.
Conclusion: Plant could survive in water.
Reason: water has nutrients, there are minerals salt within the water.
Conclusion: Plant can't survive in Detergent.
Reason: the chemical is not suitable for the plant.

During Day 4 obseravtion:

Plant in Acid sulphuric acid:
The Plant is Dead!!!
Conclusion:Plants cannot survive in acidic water.
-Chemical is too strong for the plant to survive.

( Plant in Sulphuric Acid)

Plant grow in ALKALINE(sodium hydroxide).
Selected leaf grown by 0.28cm [From 5.1cmcm To 5.2cm]
Observation:
-First layer of leaves has dried up
-Second layer of leaves is in good condition and has grown out shoots
-Water is cloudy.
-Stems are in average condition( A few weak stem)

(Plants in Sodium Hydroxide)

Plant in Common Salt solution:
-Leaves has wilted

(Plant in Common Salt solution)

Plant in Detergent solution:
The plant has died!
Conclusion:
-Plants cannot survive in detergent solution
-Detergent has got rid a layer of leaf, making the leaves a the bottom layer wet. Therefore, the leaves at the bottom becomes heavy and cause the plant to submerge.

(Plant in Detergent solution)

Plant in Water:
-Has grown out shoots
-Hairy leaves.
-Strong stems.

During Day3 observations:

Plant in sulphuric acid solution:
-Selected leaf has shrank by 0.4cm . [ From 4.9cm To 4.5cm ](due to acid)
Observation:
-Leaves has began to turn brownish and yellowish.
-Water is still cloudy.
-Stems are in average condition(stem starts to weaken).

(Plant in Sodium Hydroxide)

Plant in Common Salt solution:

(Plant in Common salt solution)

Plant grow in DETERGENT.
Selected leaf grown by 0.02cm. [From 4.65cm To 4.67cm]

-Hairy yellow leaves.
-Plant has submerged.

-Oily leave surface
-Stems starts to weaken.
-Cloudy water

-Yellowish and greenish leaves

(Plant in detergent solution)
Plant growing in WATER.
Selected leaf grown by 0.2cm. [From 4.2cm To 4.4cm]
Observation:
-Greenish leaves
-Strong stems.
-Clear water.
-Hairy leaves

(Plant in water)

During the DAY2 Observation:

Plant that grew in ACID(sulphuric acid)
Selected leaf had grown by 0.1cm. [ From 4.8cm To 4.9cm ]
Observation:
-Some leaves had started to rot.
-Water has turn a little cloudy.
-Stems are in average condition(stem starts to weaken).

(Plant in Acidic Solution) (Closer view of the water)
Plant grow in ALKALINE(sodium hydroxide).
Selected leaf grown by 0.12cm. [From 4.8cm To 4.92cm]
Observation:
-Leaves on the first layer is a bit yellowish.
-Water has turn alittle cloudy.
-Stems are in average condition( A few weak stem)

(Plant in Alkaline solution) (Closer view of the water)
Plant grow in COMMON SALT.
Selected leaf grown by 0.1cm. [From 5cm To 5.1cm]
Observation:
-A few of the leaves are seperated from its stem.
(This is due to the cause of the salt solution)
-Water is still quite clear.
-Stem starts to weaken.

(Plant in Common Salt solution.) (Closer view of the water)

Plant grow in DETERGENT.
Selected leaf grown by 0.15cm. [From 4.5cm To 4.65cm]

The concentration of the chemical used is 0.01n.
'n' stands for Normality.
0.01n refers to the the strength of solution used.

Procedure of the experiment:
Step1: Prepare the following items:
- Alkaline
-Acid( Sulphuric acid )
-Common Salt
-Detergent ( mama lemon)
-Water ( Tap)

Step2: Dillute the different types of chemicals with nutrients water.
( Do this step one by one ) Do Not Mix this solution at one go!
Contamination might take place between the surroundings and the chemical.

Volume of the solution used=
500ml of the different types of chemical + 100ml of nutrients water.
Takenote!
-Nutrients water is used to keep the plant alive with the limitation of days of our experiments.
[Unfortunetly, We cannot add too much amount of nutrients water to the plant because it will keep the plant alive for a longer period of time and hence, the amount of chemical put in would not make much changes as the nutrients given to plant is stronger. This will make us unable to conclude the result in 1 week's time.

Step3: Pour away the water in the original container.

Step4: Put in Four palette of fertilisers into the container.

Step5: Pour the 600ml of solution into the container.
( Put the plant in )

Step6: Repeat Step2 - Step 5!!

Step 7: Check out the plants daily!!
(Conclude the results by measuring the length and taking note of the condition of the plant)

Pictures Of the Plants!!!!!!!!
Leaf with a red dot on it is selected for the experiment!!!

( Water) Length of selected leaf: 4cm

(Detergent) Length of selected leaf: 4.5cm

(Common Salt) Length of selected leaf: 5cm

(Alkaline) Length of selected leaf: 4.8cm

(Acid) Length of selected leaf: 5cm
